YSR Congress Party MLA R K Roja continued to be a big `headache’ to the ruling establishment in Andhra Pradesh. Even after two weeks of being stopped her from attending the National Women’s Parliament near Vijayawada, she is still turned to be nerves to the ruling party.
Strongly refuting Andhra Pradesh Police Association’s (APPA) demand for her unconditional apology, for her allegations against Director General of Police N Sambasiva Rao, she seems to be not repented to her act.
Reiterating her accusation against the DGP, she asserted today that she was ‘kidnapped’ by police from Gannavaram airport to prevent her from attending the event despite getting invited.
Both the ruling party and police officials are finding it difficult to face Roja’s tirade. Indicating that she has no grouse against general police personnel, she said that she is targeting only the DGP as he couldn’t exercise his powers. Instead, she deplored that DGP had bowed before the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. So, she said that she is still demanding Rao’s apologise to her for the injustice.
Earlier, APPOA president J Srinivasa Rao said yesterday that the “police are the slaves of the public and not anyone else”. Strongly refuting the allegations levelled by Roja against DGP, he claimed that police had prior information about Roja’s plan to interrupt the women parliament sessions and acted swiftly against her for the smooth conduct of the event.
He further advised that being a people’s representative, it’s not at all good for Roja to make such comments against the DGP. If she felt anything wrong, he said that she might have approached judiciary rather than making false remarks against the police.
