AP CM YS Jaganmohan Reddy offered an official Iftar dinner in Guntur on Monday. For this, the government spent a mind-blowing Rs 1.1 cr. About 6,000 persons were served food on the occasion. Many eyebrows are raised over the huge spendings at a time when Jagan is openly talking about the bleak financial condition of the state.
Records show that the government sanctioned and released Rs 98.65 lakh to Guntur District Collector towards making arrangements for food, GST, dais, AC, seating, LED lighting, German hangar, barricading, etc.
Also, Rs. 9.3 lakh was released to the Accounts Officer, Department of Protocol, Mangalagiri, towards catering, floral decoration and printing of invitation cards. The total spendings triggered whispers within the ruling party whether the government is really serious about savings for the sake of meeting its welfare promises to DWCRA women, farmers, students, etc.
