TDP politburo member, Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, on Friday asked Chief Minister, Jagan Mohan Reddy, to reply into whose pocket the Rs 10,000 cr raised as loan by mortgaging the TIDCO (Township and Infrastructure Development Corporation) houses built for the poor by the TDP regime has gone.
Talking to media persons, Bonda Uma suspected massive corruption in every stage in this Government, including in the distribution of one cent house-sites to the poor and in building villages in the name of Jaganna villages construction. “The Chief Minister has looted Rs 7,000 cr in the name of distribution of one cent house-sites to the poor,” the TDP politburo member said.
Bonda Uma revealed that the State Government has recently raised Rs 10,000 cr as loan from various banks by mortgaging the TIDCO houses without the knowledge of the beneficiaries. These TIDCO houses were built by Chandrababu naidu when he was the chief minister for distribution to the poor, he stated.
Now these banks are asking the beneficiaries to repay the loans and the banks have now even branded the houses as non-performing accounts (NPAs), Bonda Uma said and demanded the State Government to see to it that the beneficiaries get the regular status back. “It is the duty of the State Government that the beneficiaries get back the regular status as it is not their mistake,” the TDP leader remarked.
Chandrababu wanted to realise the dream of the poor to own a house and thus built 3.13 lakh TIDCO housing units between 2014 and 2019, Bonda Uma said and added that now Jagan shamelessly mortgaged these housing units to raise a loan of Rs 10,000 cr. The Chief Minister misled the banks to get the loan that the construction of these TIDCO houses is not fully completed and thus he needs funds to complete them, he revealed.
Since the term of the loan of two years has been completed and the construction is not taken up the banks served notices on the beneficiaries to repay the loans. This apart, the banks have even branded the beneficiaries as non-performing accounts which results that they can not approach any bank for any kind of loans now, he explained.
The beneficiaries are now helpless as the banks are even getting ready to auction the TIDCO houses, Bonda Uma said. He demanded the Chief Minister to immediately initiate measures not only to stop the banks from going for auction of the housing units but also to see to it that the beneficiaries get the regular status.
Bonda Uma also said that the State Government should complete the construction of the TIDCO houses and distribute them to the beneficiaries immediately. The Jagan Reddy Government has collected money from the beneficiaries of the housing units distributed to them as far back as 15 to 20 years back in the combined State, he said.
Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is looting the State and deceiving the innocent people is shamelessly campaigning ‘Why AP Needs Jagan’, all with public money, Bonda Uma said. He called upon the people to think who has done good for them and who is looting the State.
