Telangana Minister K T Rama Rao said that Rs 20146 crore has been allocated to make Hyderabad a Global city. The amount will be spent on diverse activities related to water, roads and illuminating the city with LED blubs. Giving a facelift to the city is an important priority with works worth Rs10000 already being initiated.
2BHK houses for the poor will be constructed at a cost of Rs 8,225 crore and to meet the drinking water needs under GHMC limits Rs7000 crore has been allocated. Rs 6,700 crore will be spent on development of roads, Rs 2,962 crore on drinking water supply, Rs 1,665 crore on development and beautification of Musi river, Rs 400 crore on LED lights, Rs 230 crores for drainage works.
The Minister will conduct reviews with the departments every Monday on the progress of the work. The LED bulb program is anticipated to be completed by Diwali.
