The ongoing RTC workers’ agitation is taking new twists and turns each passing day. The employees’ JAC expressed surprise at CM K Chandrasekhar Rao’s statements on their alleged withdrawal of the demand for RTC merger with the government of Telangana. JAC Convenor Aswathama Reddy issued a fresh counter to TRS boss saying that the employees unions have never given up their merger demand. In fact, it is the main demand that came to the fore after the Andhra RTC was merged with the Government of Andhra Pradesh a few weeks ago.
Aswathama Reddy clarified that neither the JAC leaders nor their advocates spoke of withdrawing the merger demand before the High Court. But somehow rumours came out that the employees relented on this. Aswathama Reddy said that the JAC would face any punishment if anybody proved that they surrendered the merger demand. He deplored that the KCR Circar has not yet invited the JAC for talks despite the latest court orders. The government is just dragging the issue by forming useless committees with EDs and other officials.
