About 6 new ministers will enter the KCR Cabinet in today’s expansion as per confirmed reports. Of them, two ministers will be women. This is the first time that CM Chandrasekhara Rao is accommodating women in his ministry and, that too, two women simultaneously. In his first stint as CM also, KCR did not give ministries to women. Maheswaram MLA Sabita Indra Reddy and Warangal MLA Satyavati Rathore got into the Cabinet.
The other four ministers are TRS Working President KT Rama Rao, KCR’s nephew T. Harish Rao, Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar and Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar. With present expansion, the Cabinet strength will go up from 12 to 18 ministers. It is highly unlikely that anybody will be dropped from the Cabinet as of now.
The TRS leaders say that their boss has given top priority to balancing representation to districts and seniority of the leaders in the present expansion. Harish Rao’s candidature has become a little controversial. There were rumours for some time that he may not get into the Cabinet. Harisha Rao’s loyalists have become greatly agitated and worried whether KCR would really set him aside. But finally, KCR’s nephew got his berth ending political speculation on differences within KCR family.
