Sahasame swasaga sagipo weekend collections
Akkineni Naga Chaitanya’s latest offering Sahasame Swaasagaa Saagipo opened to a poor start at the box office. The lukewarm response from audience and demonetization have badly effected the film’s box office prospects in the first weekend. Despite being a solo release last Friday, SSS failed to make noise at the box office. While the numbers in Telugu states are below par, the film has thoroughly disappointed the trade circles in overseas.
After collecting $38,603 on its premiers, the film registered only mediocre numbers on Friday and Saturday with $ 73,465 and $ 82,174 respectively. On Sunday, the collected a meagre $ 30K taking the total past $ 220K, which is a disappointing number considering that Chaitu is coming off from a solid hit with Premam and Gautham Menon is the director. Premam minted $532K by the end of first weekend and SSS managed only $ 220K. However, distributor has acquired this movie for a very nominal price of 75 lacs and will end up breaking even.
The slow paced narration and the lacklustre second half proved vital in the overall verdict. It looks like the overseas box office will be dull till Dhruva release.
