YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy was questioned by police in connection with the attack on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) office in Mangalagiri. After the interrogation, Reddy made some surprising statements about the investigation and the current political situation.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy claimed that the TDP government is targeting YSRCP leaders and neglecting public welfare since coming to power. He accused the government of harassing and intimidating YSRCP members.
The YSRCP leader stated that he was called for questioning on Thursday. He mentioned that the number of suspects in the case keeps increasing daily. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy informed that he was not present at the scene on the day of the incident and had informed the police about this during the questioning.
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy accused the TDP of taking vindictive actions against YSRCP leaders. He suggested that the TDP-led coalition government wants to eliminate opposition. The YSRCP leader reminded that his party still received 40% of the votes in the recent election.
He claimed that these cases are being filed to divert attention from the implementation of election promises. Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy criticized the police investigation, calling it non-transparent. He warned that there would be consequences for what he called the TDP’s “wrong culture.”
Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy questioned whether the attackers had given YSRCP members’ names or if the police had written them down themselves. He urged the TDP government to stop such actions.
The police are investigating the attack from various angles. Reports suggest that they have gathered evidence implicating Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy in the incident, which led to his questioning. However, Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy maintains his innocence and claims he was far away on the day of the attack.
