Samantha next movie, Savitri Biopic

Mahanati Savitri made an indelible impact on South Indian film industry with her charismatic career that serves as a reference book for many film stars. Bringing various unknown facts and stages of her life to audience in the form of a cinema is going to be an uphill task. But, young filmmaker Nag Ashwin, who impressed the audience and critics alike with his directional skills in Yevade Subramanyam, is desperate to revisit the life of the legendary actress and did a lot of research in the last few months to make a biopic on her. Finding the right actress to play Savitri is one of the toughest jobs for Ashwin. After considering a lot of names, Ashwin has finally zeroed in on Samantha to play the lead in Savitri.

A source in the known reveals that Ashwin met Samantha a few weeks ago and narrated the complete draft. Reportedly, Samantha is very impressed with the script and decided to grab the opportunity. Though Samantha is one of the top league actress in South at present, she is very disappointed with the inconsequential roles she has been offered in recent times. She has decided to put an end to the glamorous roles and rejected a bunch of big ticket offers. And, the Savitri biopic is a timely offer which she couldn’t afford to loose though she is not fully confident of Ashwin’s craft.
