After summer, Sankranthi is the biggest season for films. Like every year, three prestigious films Ram Charan – Boyapati’s untitled action thriller, Nandamuri Balakrishna’s NTR and Venkatesh – Varun Tej multi-starrer F2 are in the race. With all the three films carrying massive expectations, all the theatres across AP and Telangana will screen these three films. Rajinikanth’s Petta and Ajith’s Viswasam are hitting the screens during Sankranthi 2019 too.
NTR Biopic and Ram Charan’s film have been sold for massive prices and both the films will occupy the lion’s share of screens during the season. F2 too will occupy decent number of screens and with three Telugu releases, no distributors and exhibitors are showing interest to screen Tamil films during the season. One of the top distributor (not interested to be named) said that Petta and Viswasam will not release in Telugu along with Tamil as there are three prestigious movies in Tollywood. Both the Tamil films may lack prominent buyers too.
Hence, this Sankranthi will have enough Telugu noise at the Tollywood box-office and will have no space for Tamil movies mostly.
