YSRCP questioned Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announcing a GO directing the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC) to entering an agreement to supply bauxite. Alleging that the CM has resorted to dramatics, he demanded to scrap GO No. 97, issued recently by his government.
Hyderabad: YSRCP chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy called the scrapping of GO 222 issued during Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s regime by Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was part of the TDP theatrics.
The scrapped GO announced by Naidu directs the Andhra Pradesh Mineral Development Corporation (APMDC), to enter into a bauxite supply agreement with a company owned by Penna Prathapa Reddy.
Alleging that Naidu enacted a drama in announcing the scraping of the said GO, Jagan said, the Chief Minister on the one hand claiming that the Penna Prathapa Reddy owned company had spent nearly Rs 5,000 Cr to set up an aluminum plant. The constrution of plant was based on the agreement entered with the APMDC to supply bauxite to the plant.
Jagana said that the chief minister knows full well that the scrapping of GO would not stand to the legal scrutiny. So, he announced, as it is inevitable that the government’s decision would be thrown out by the courts. He called the ruling TDP government scrapping the GO was nothing more than part of the TDP theatrics. He dared Naidu to scrap GO No. 97 issued recently by his own government, giving forest clearance to the mining of bauxite in the Reserve Forest Areas of Visakhapatnam district at Chintapalli.
He further alleged, that “Now, it was the ruling party government, which had brought second stage of clearance to the bauxite mining,” after six years of his father, and the then chief minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy’s demise.
