Senior journalist V Hanumantha Rao (91) died today at his house in Nagarjuna Nagar of Sri Nagar colony in Hyderabad. He has over 65 years of journalism career in Telugu.
He has worked in Krishna Patrika, Eenadu, Economic Times and many other organisations in various capacities. He had worked as war reporter from INS Vikranth. He started a news features agency “Dana News Features’ (DNF). He is founder editor of Veekshanam, a monthly.
He had written thousands of articles in various newspapers and journals. He is known for his simplicity and honesty. He is an authority in providing accurate data on socio, economic and political developments. His write-ups used to be thought provoking. He has encouraged several youth leaders to write on socio, economic issues.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chadnrasekhar Rao expressing his deep condolence over his death said Hanumantha Rao is a `role model’ for journalism. Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chadnrababu Naidu and YSR Congress Party chief Y S Jaganmohan Reddy also condoned for his death.
