Andhra Pradesh is planning a Global Investor Summit during October 12-14, 2015, on the eve of Hudhud anniversary. The devastating Hudhud struck port city Vizag and other parts of north coastal Andhra causing huge property loss last October. The damage has strengthened the determination of the state to make the long coastline cyclone proof. The summit, apart from discussing the resilience of Andhra Pradesh in coping with the cyclones, will also discuss the investment opportunities available in the state. The issue figured prominently in the monthly meeting state investment promotion board chaired by chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu. The meeting reviewed proposal to set up seven mega project with an investment of Rs 2003 crore. These industries, if set up, would provide employment opportunities for 35,000 to 40,000 people. The seven mega projects are Mohan Spintex (Krishna District) Indian Designs (textile & garmenting project, Hindupur), Divis Laboratories (Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients project, Kakinada), Vayhan Coffee (Premium instant coffee plant, Vizag), Jain Irrigation (Mega Food Park, Kurnool), Greentech Industries (auto-components unit) and NHK Springs India (ancillary auto-components unit of iSuzu Motors India, Chittoor district).
