Shabbir Ali questions Nativity of Owaisi brothers

Opposition leader in the Telangana Legislative Council Md Ali Shabbir accused MIM president Asaduddin Owaisi of misusing the pious platform of Milad-un-Nabi to deliver a political speech.

A couple of days ago, while participating in the religious function and later addressing a public meeting, Asad gave a call to Hyderabad people to vote in GHMC elections on the basis of “Hyderabad for Hyderabadis” and reject non-Hyderabadis.

Strongly condemning Owaisi’s call for ‘Hyderabad for Hyderabadis’, he questioned the nativity of Owaisi brothers. “I was born in Kamareddy and completed my education in Hyderabad. Other Congress leaders are also from Telangana. But your grandfather Abdul Wahed Owaisi came from Owsa in Maharashtra. We are more Hyderabadi than Owaisi brothers,” he said while asking Owaisi brother as to when they were leaving for Owsa.

Shabbir Ali also challenged Asaduddin Owaisi to furnish the list of poor students who were given admission in educational institutions run by the MIM. He alleged that the MIM leaders turned billionaires while exploiting the sentiments of poor Muslims. “MIM leaders own Bentley, BMW and other super luxury cars. But poor Hyderabadis have remained push cart vendors. Congress party made the mistake of milking snakes of MIM and was bitten badly. We are now recovering from the venomous impact and would soon teach them a lesson. They not only cheated the Congress party, but did nothing for the development of Muslim community,” he said.

He said that the Congress party does not indulge in hate and emotional politics. “We seek vote on the basis of performance. Congress Government provided 4% reservation to Muslims. The MIM had openly opposed reservation for Muslims. We fought several legal cases and ensured continuation of reservation which benefitted over 10 lakh people since 2004,” he said.

Shabbir Ali asked the MIM leaders to explain their contribution in the development of Hyderabad, especially Old City, and also the Muslim community.
