The anti-BJP leaders stepped up their efforts to prevent Modi from becoming PM again. Their hopes are not dashed by exit polls’ adverse predictions. Nationalist Congress Party leader Sharad Pawar has begun efforts to stop YCP President YS Jaganmohan Reddy from extending his support to the BJP. Pawar has called Jagan over phone and asked for his support to the non-NDA alliance.
Jagan has not given any commitment to Pawar. Jagan has said that he will take any decision based on the actual election results that would come out on May 23. Their telephonic conversation triggered speculation within the YCP on the future moved of their leader. TDP boss Chandrababu Naidu has already told Congress that he has no objection if they open discussion with Jagan. Exit polls have given complete victory for NDA but the anti-BJP leaders are hopeful of a chance to oust Modi with opposition unity.
