Hyderabad: Andhra Pradesh government has called for a day long marathon meeting on Monday to roll out the plan and execution of shifting of employees from Hyderabad to Vijayawada. A committee headed by Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Principal Secretary K S Jawahar Reddy called all the 31 and odd department in the state secretariat to attend the meeting, to hammer out a solution to the nagging problem of shifting of administration from Hyderabad to Vijayawada and Guntur. The meeting has come against the back drop of Chief Minister N Chandrbaabu Naidu making it clear that it would be in appropriate on the part of employees to continue to function from Hyderabad, when the chief minister has been running the government from Vijayawada.
The meeting would discuss on the issue relating to identifying the office spaces, housing for employees and others. Earlier, the committee headed by Jawahar Reddy had already identified about 7 lakh Sft of space in and around Vijayawada and Guntur, for office and providing temporary housing to the employees. And, the state government has reportedly come to a preliminary assessment that it needs about 11 lakh Sft to relocate offices from Hyderabad to Vijaywada.
