Yes, this is the discussion happening not only among film and media circles but also among general audience. It is known news that actress Sri Reddy made some baseless allegations on actor Nani ( baseless because she never showed any evidence) and Nani responded to this with legal notices.
Many Telugu people opine that Telugu TV media is always focused on sensationalism after seeing some of the Telugu channels’ stories on various issues. So as per that impression, it is not wrong if one expects Telugu media to capitalise on the issue of Sri Reddy and Nani. However, to the relief of Telugu audience, most of the media kept silent on this issue and did not run hours long debates with so called self proclaimed intellectuals like it did earlier.
Most of the people attribute this welcome-able change of media’s reaction to Pawan Kalyan’s attack on some Telugu channels after they conducted debates on Sri Reddy’s abusive words on Pawan’s mother. People say, had Pawan Kalyan not attacked and damaged media reputation by highlighting their behaviour, they would have definitely debated Nani vs Sri Reddy’s issue for several hours now.
So, Pawan Kalyan’s fight with media – whether it damaged Pawan’s prospects or helped his prospects, we can not conclude now. But we can definitely conclude, that fight helped Telugu audience as well as Nani – as it made channels avoid some disgusting debates.
