With the allotment of a Rajya Sabha seat to the Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is trying to complete the State’s various railway projects in a very clever way. The Railway Minister has been provided a Rajya Sabha on behalf of TDP from Andhra Pradesh.
With this allotment, it almost seems like the Railway Minister has been placed with the extra responsibility of making sure that the railway projects in Andhra Pradesh proceed smoothly. As soon as he was elected as a Rajya Sabha member, he okayed new railway line works for Amaravati as well as other projects in the presence of Chandrababu Naidu.
The new Railway Zone works whose creation has been delayed for the past 2 years were also approved. With Visakhapatnam as the centre, works for a South East Coast Railway Zone are moving along at a rapid pace within the Railway Board. The proposal for such a zone was also green-lit by the Operations Department of the Railway Board. On the occasion of Yoga Day on June 21st, Minister Prabhu might make an official announcement regarding the zone in Visakhapatnam.
Considering the division of the state, carrying out various promises like the railway zone will the diminish the public’s anger towards the Central Government. The Central and State Governments have come in for a lot of criticism due to their unsuccessful attempts at completing projects. With the announcement of the railway zone, TDP will have some ammunition to fire back at the opposition.
At the same time, BJP leaders can firmly quash any talk of the Centre not helping the Andhra Pradesh State Government. Such talk has been whispered by TDP leaders over the last year. The opposition might also take credit for the State and Central governments bowing their necks due to the constant criticism. The public will be able to enjoy additional facilities and services. Thus, everyone gains and there is a happy ending for this story.
