Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has GHMC officials to speed up demolition drive taken up by the GHMC officials in Hyderabad. He convened a meeting the development activities with Ministers Kadiam Srihari, Laxma Reddy, Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma and Mayor Bonthu Ramamohan along with other senior officials at his camp office.
The officials told the Chief Minister that about 400 illegal constructions in the city were razed down. KCR is learnt to have directed the officials to focus on development works parallel to the demolition drive.
Roads, drainage lines should be repaired thoroughly, the CM directed the officials. The officials were asked to come up with a plan to set up townships in the outskirts of the city with co-operation of farmers. He also hinted at allocated special funds to Hyderabad in the next budget.
Estimation cost for the repair of highways should soon be sent to the Central government, he said.
Meannwhile, the High Court questioned the Telangana government for razing down the illegal constructions without issuing notices to the owners. The High Court judge also questioned the government as to why the officials were silent all these days when they have list of encroachments.
