Medak: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday took time to praise women for their ability to manage finances. “Women are the best managers in overseeing household finances compared to men,” he said.
He was addressing a meeting with villagers of Narsannapet and Erravelli in Medak district to oversee development programmes in the district. “We men are spendthrift in our expenditure, but they know how to save money,” KCR said.
Asserting that Godavari waters would soon flow in the fields of Telangana State in the next two years, the Chief Minister said Erravelli and Narsannapet villages would very soon turn into model villages by utilising the resources locally.
The State government is presently providing drip-irrigation to every farmer in the village. The government is also spending money to install 60 borewells in the villages for the benefit of farmers. KCR urged the villagers to co-ordinate each other to develop their villages.
The State government’s ambitious scheme – double-bedroom will soon be completed in Erravelli village, he said. KCR said that the works are a bit delayed due to rains for the past two weeks. “The scheme has meaning only if every work including the taps, tanks atop the the buildings are set up and well connected,” he said.
