Celebrities in Tollywood may paint a rosy picture about the industry but some incidents expose them completely. For quite sometime accusations of top stars and influential biggies crushing small filmmakers resulted in huge controversy. Now star singer SP.Balasubrahmaniam made sensational comments on the happenings in Tollywood exposing the industry completely.
Speaking at a function organised by Rotary Club in Vijayawada, Balasubrahmaniam revealed many things about the plight of the writers and insults faced by the singers and to the music world. Balasubrahmaniam after receiving the lifetime achievement award at Murali Fortune Hotel by the Rotary Club members, he refused to speak saying there was nothing much to talk about him.
He threw the dice to the guests saying if they have anything to ask he will answer them. Many bombarded him with questions and SPB patiently answered about the film industry, movie lovers, fans, writers etc. He said fans and movie lovers are clapping just because others are clapping but they are not sharing their true feelings that they didnot liked a song or a film.
He said people lament that all awards are given to Karnataka or Kerala but they never introspect whether their favourite stars are coming with films that make the country proud. He said all movie lovers should introspect whether Amir Khan alone can make a film like Dangal and why can’t Tollywood come with such films.
He lamented that castes and sects are ruining the industry and current films. He confessed that under testing times he was forced to sing some songs. He said during that time many made fun of him calling ‘vruddha nari’ and he added that even now he is ‘proudha naari’.
He then made sensational comments saying movie lovers situation became so pathetic as a arrested eunches and are scared about fans attacking their houses pelting stones if they talk against a film. He said only if the so called fans ask their stars, films that make country proud will come.
He said producers are booking thousands of theatres during top stars films and lamented where should small film makers play their films. He said many from overseas congratulated him for Mithunam but in the state not more than ten theatres were available to screen the film.
He said during the high budget films, theatres are replacing small films however good they may be making way for top stars. He said movie lovers should boycott the films they do not like and added movie lovers should express their opinions frankly till it reaches the industry biggies.
