AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu instructed the officials not on poll duty to focus their time on developmental programmes under way in the state. The election code should not become a hurdle in the path of state administration. Naidu’s remarks came at a time when there is still confrontation going on between the TDP and the Election Commission. The long gap between polling and counting days left a virtual void in the administration all over.
Naidu told a meeting of party leaders and MLAs that they should not totally ignore the day to day needs and problems of the common people. The people’s representatives should get back to the task of taking to the notice of District Collectors the public issues and get proper solutions for the same.
Naidu asked the Election Commission to pass instructions to the concerned officials to take steps for not paralysing the administration and developmental process. As the middle of summer is arriving, more steps need to be taken for avoiding any drinking water crisis in rural areas.
