ABN 15years Editorial, Rajdeep
The Managing Director of Aamoda Publications Vemuri Radhakrishna penned his Sunday editorial revealing 15years of reincarnation of the third largest circulated Telugu daily Andhra Jyothy.
Highlighting several ups and downs in their journey, RK recalled an incident that happened during Y S Rajashekar Reddy regime.
Rajdeep Sardesai who was the then CNN-IBN chairman, wanted to launch a Telugu news channel in association with Andhra Jyothy. This proposal was halted at a juncture when the contracts were being signed to start a news channel together.
According to RK, former Chief Minister Rajasekhar Reddy in New Delhi lobbied with the help of Pranab Mukherjee to stop Rajdeep from going ahead with the proposal. Rajdeep reportedly backtracked on the proposal considering the advice of Pranab.
RK noted that whatever transpired then was for the best as they could soon launch ABN Andhra Jyothy.
