The AIADMK general secretary VK Sasikala, who is seen as impatient with the Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao’s silence over her claim to form the government since a week, is found an ardent supporter from unexpected sources. In her tussle with O Pannerselvam to be chief minister of Tamil Nadu, the controversial BJP MP and former union minister Dr Subramanian Swamy emerged as the most prominent supporter to her.
In fact, he was responsible for sending her, along with her mentor Jayalalithaa to jail, few years ago. And now the shadow of possible conviction from the Supreme Court hanging on her head, due to his legal battle only.
Ever since caretaker chief minister Panneerselvam raised a banner of revolt against Sasikala, Swamy has tweeted regularly supplying insights and advice to Sasikala. He met the President Pranab Mukherjee and apprised him of the situation in Tamil Nadu. Last night he met the Governor and suggested him to take a decision earliest.
He lashed out at Governor for taking his own cool time to come to Chennai to play ref in the tussle for power in the ruling AIADMK. He also demanded that the Union Cabinet should pass a resolution to sack the Governor. He accused that the Constitution was being compromised and that the Governor was flouting his oath of office.
In a threatening tone, today in a tweet, he asked Governor to decide on the Chief Minister’s issue by tomorrow. He is also suggesting that the lady should sue in the Supreme Court if Governor does not invite her to form a government by tomorrow.
He tweeted a short while ago, “Tamil Nadu Governor must decide the Chief Minister issue by tomorrow otherwise a writ petition under Article 32 of the Constitution can be filed charging abetment of horse trading.”
He also indicated it would be `futile attempt’ for the Governor to wait for Supreme Court’s verdict against Sasikala in disproportionate assets case, as it is likely to be delayed.
