A fresh survey has been initiated today to investigate alleged land encroachments by the family members of YSRCP leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy. The survey focuses on 146.75 acres of land in Chittoor-Kurnool National Highway area, Chintakommadinne Mandal, YSR district. Preliminary reports suggest that around 55 acres of this land belong to the government and forest departments, allegedly encroached upon by Sajjala’s family members.
The land in dispute includes 71.49 acres under Sajjala Sandeep Reddy, 16.85 acres under Sajjala Janardhan Reddy, and 21.46 acres under Y. Satyasandeep Reddy, along with other family members. Earlier revenue surveys indicated that a significant portion of this land belongs to the government and forest departments. However, the forest department has denied any claims over the land, while revenue records suggest otherwise.
The Sajjala family has approached the High Court, challenging the survey. Meanwhile, the state government has submitted the survey report to the court. The court has allowed the survey to proceed but directed authorities to ensure no damage is caused to crops or existing structures during the process. A three-member team, including officials from the Revenue, Forest, and Survey departments, has been appointed to conduct the survey, which began on Thursday.
In a related development, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has ordered an inquiry into allegations that the Sajjala family has encroached on nearly 200 acres of forest and DKT (assigned) lands in Sugalibeedi village, CK Dinne Mandal. The family is accused of acquiring these lands under benami names during the YSRCP regime.
