After a long hiatus of two years, political Swami Paripoornananda has began speaking up again. This time again, he is taking up the issue of Hindutwa and attacks on Hindu temples. The other day, he addressed a strongly-worded press conference where he took on the TTD and said the TDP was going against the Hindu interests.
Paripoornananda had joined the BJP ahead of the 2018 assembly elections in Telangana. He actively campaigned for the BJP and hopped from place to place in a chopper. However, he withdrew into a shell after the BJP was badly mauled in Telagnana. Later, he did not campaign for the BJP in 2019 AP assembly elections and the Lok Sabha elections. For over one year, he has been operating from his Kakinada based Ashram – the Sree Peetham. But, he largely stayed away from politics.
Now, he has become active again. The other day, he took to the press to attack the YSRCP government. He said the YSRCP was treating Hindus as sheep. He said the YSRCP should remember that it had come to power due to the support extended to it by the Hindus. He also targeted endowments minister Vellampalli Srinivas for not protecting the interests of the Hindus.
Interestingly, Paripurnananda has said that his fight would be apolitical and that he would take all political parties along in his fight. He said every political party was welcome and said that if the BJP came forward, he would take the BJP along too. Sources said Paripoornananda wants to emerge as the spearhead of the agitation against YSRCP government and wants all the parties to join in his fight.
