Megastar Chiranjeevi’s elder daughter Sushmita started her career as a designer a decade ago with Chiranjeevi’s Jai Chiranjeevi. After a long break, she returned back to films with Ram Charan’s Rangasthalam and she is now styling for Megastar’s prestigious periodic epic Syeraa. Sushmita has great combination of love for fashion and films equally. She feels that a designer needs to understand the view of the director only after which they can design the adequate bunch of clothes.
“Designing clothes for a periodic film is not that easy. I interacted with Surendar Reddy and traveled with him for almost eight months after which I prepared a presentation. I spoke to my history teacher, spent ample time in NIFT library and made enough research, collected material before designing for Syeraa. I am styling for Chiranjeevi, Amitabh Bachchan, Nayanthara and Tamannaah in Syeraa. Uyyalavada died in 1830 and hence we used khadi cotton, mulmul and gauze along with some silks which were the richest textiles available during that time” said Sushmita about her hard work and the amount of efforts she put for Syeraa.
