The Vizag police have recorded a statement of restaurant waiter Janepalli Srinivasa Rao who attacked and inflicted a minor injury on his favourite leader YCP President Jaganmohan Reddy’s shoulder. Srinivasa Rao said he did not attempt to murder Jagan. He clarified that he wanted to create a massive sympathy wave to help YCP leader ride to victory and become Chief Minister in 2019 elections.
Srinivasa Rao further said that he has been very upset since Jagan should have become CM in 2014 itself but it could not be possible at that time. He said he was sure that Jagan would become CM without fail this time in 2019 with the help of this sympathy.
Meanwhile, YCP leader Vijayasai Reddy said the attacker had come with a perfect plan to kill Jagan with one sharp knife cut in his neck but, with the blessings of people, the YCP president escaped with no major threat to his life. Vijayasai’s comments went totally contrary to the statements of the attacker and his brother, who confirmed that all their family members were sympathisers of Jagan for a long time.
BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao had also taken side with YCP claims, saying that TDP has launched a misinformation campaign in order to sabotage the investigation in the murder attempt case. TDP has quickly condemned his statements, saying this is proof of the BJP-YCP secret deal. TDP MP Kesineni Nani said Jagan got his fan to attack him to create sympathy keeping an eye of elections.
