While the Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) and Congress Party along with Mahakutami has begun the race of campaigning, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is yet to gear up public meetings as well as door-to-door campaign. Majority of the leaders and candidates from the party are having hopes on BJP National President Mr. Amit Shah.
Mr. Shah had already blown counch in South Telangana (Palamuru Shankaravam) and he will visit North Telangana for attending a massive public meeting in Karimnagar district. The BJP, which has no alliance with any party, is moving towards polls with its own strength and strategies of Mr. Shah. Experts in politics have been describing the public meeting of Mr. Shah in South Telangana as almost success and waiting for the response of the voters of North Telangana, who gave huge majority to the TRS in the previous elections.
The cadre from the state is now planning to mobilize large number of audience for the upcoming public meeting of Mr. Shah which is scheduled on October 10 at Karimnagar. Sources said that the leaders from the state are planning to mobilize at least 25 people from each polling booth. “As per the estimations, at least 25,000 people may come to the public meeting from each district of North Telangana and the party high command is expecting at least 2lakh audience for the meeting,” the sources said.
Shah’s strategy
Mr. Shah, who gifted Uttar Pradesh to the party in the previous elections, has his own strategy to divert traditional voters of other parties to BJP. “Usually he deploys BJYM, RSS and VHP workers booth level and assigns them tasks as page-pramukhs (incharge of each page of voters’ list). They do bifurcation voters based on their mind-set that commits support to any political parties. They filter BJP supporters as well as other party’s supporters and neutral voters. Mr. Shah’s strategy emphasises party workers to attract neutral voters more along with convincing the voters of other party supporters. Before one or two days of elections, the strategy shifts to only the number of constituencies to reach magic figure, which any party needs to form government,” the sources explained.
