Telangana Congress on Saturday lodged an election complaint against deputy chief minister Kadiyam Srihari with election commission for violating the code of conduct. According to complaint filed by party general secretary Kumar Rao, the deputy chief minister had taken part in the public meeting along with Pasunuri Dayakar, TRS Candidate, MLA Vijaya Bhaskar in the Art College grounds, Hanamkonda of Warangal Lok Sabha constituency,on November 6. Kumar Rao said by organizing a public meeting government premises the TRS and the deputy chief minister had violated code of conduct prescribed for the parties and candidates by the election commission of India.
” Organizing public meetings and Election campaign in public places without taking valid permission from the concerned election commission authority will come under violation of code of conduct of ECI. In this regard , we request you to initiate necessary action against the deputy chief minister immediately to prevent further violation of code of conduct by the leaders of ruling party,” Kumar said in the complaint.
Talking to media later, he Congress was a keeping a watch on the activities of ruling party.” We are receiving complaints from our party workers that the ruling party was abusing the power. We will bring all these incidents to the notice of the commission as and when we receive them,” he said. Media was also reporting the incidents of election code violation and the Congress was submitting the clippings of newspapers as proof, he said.
