Continuing their novel protests against the forgotten promises of chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Telangana Congress leaders planted saplings at the sites where the Chief Minister laid foundation stones for Banjara Bhavan, Komaram Bheem Advasi Bhavan and Babu Jagjeevanram Bhavan.
In a spectacular program, CM KCR laid foundations stone for these bhavans on Road No. 10, Banjara Hills on December 11, 2014. All three foundation stones had no plaques, which were reportedly removed following a dispute over the land ownership. T-Congress, on the occasion of first anniversary of the stones, organized the program. Earlier, a similar program had been organized at Christian Bhavan three days back.
Congress senior leaders including Opposition leader in Council Md Ali Shabbir, Greater Hyderabad Congress president Danam Nagender, former MPs M. Anjan Kumar Yadav and Ravinder Naik, former MLA Marri Sashidhar Reddy, former Deputy Mayor D. Rajkumar, ex-Corporator Bharathi Naik, GHCC (Minorities Dep) Chairman Shaik Abdullah Sohail and GHCC General Secretary Syed Nizamuddin were among those present on the occasion.
“KCR laid the foundation stones without even verifying the ownership status of this land. This shows the scant respect he had for these communities. He openly cheated Tribals and Dalits in the name of Bhavans despite knowing the fact that these Bhavans would never become a reality. KCR had hurt the sentiments of all communities by making fake and tall promises. He probably imagined that his lies could never be nailed,” the leaders said ddressing a meeting at the site of ‘non-existent Bhavans’.
” KCR did not implement other promises made with different communities. They include 12% reservation for Muslims and STs, three acres land for Dalits and Tribals and adequate funds for the development of weaker sections,” they said.
They pointed out that the then Congress Government allocated 3 acres of land, worth nearly Rs. 45 crore, in Devarkanda Basti of Banjara Hills for graveyards for Muslim and Hindus. According to T-Congress leaders, the land was handed over to the communities in 2008 without any publicity. However, TRS Government is creating hype around everything and even staking claims on the achievements of previous Congress Government.
