The Telangana Congress, which never bothered to raise its voice against the wholesale defection of TDP MLAs into TRS ,today cried foul when long hand of chief minister KCR reached its own legislators.
When 12 TDP MLAs crossed over to TRS and merged their group with the ruling party, the T-Congress did not feel it obligatory to raise objection and call it unethical behavior. Today after the defection of party Khammam MLA Puvvada Ajay Kumar, and MLC Farooq Hussain, entire top brass of the party said it was unethical. They realized that the Congress was going to be next victim of TRS’ rapacious politics that had almost liquidated the TDP in the Assembly.
Today, Opposition leader K Jana Reddy, Senior Congress leader Marri Sashidhar Reddy, leader of Opposition in the Council Shabbir Ali called upon people to teach the TRS a lesson for its unethical practice of wooing the opposition MLAs.
Jana Reddy said KCR was practicing loathsome politics and the CM appears to be leading to disaster.
” It is unfortunate that KCR is trying to weaken the Congress by wooing our MLAs, even though the party is extending support to the good programs of the government. It’s shame on the part of chief minister, he is more interested in engineering defections rather than thinking of addressing the drought and drinking water crisis in the state,” he accused.
The opposition leader ridiculed KCR for calling the defections as reunification. ” If you are serious about reunification, ask the defectors to resign from their houses and seek fresh mandate in the name of reunification,” Jana Reddy challenged KCR.
He hoped that the Court decision in the case of Uttarakhand defections should act as an eye-opener for KCR. They demanded the defected legislators to resign from their houses and seek fresh mandate.
Jana Reddy, Sashidhar Reddy and Shabbir said they would lodge a complaint with Assembly speaker against Ajay and council chairman against Farooq and seek their disqualification. They said the Congress would not hesitate to take legal recourse if the they did not get justice in the legislature.
