The tables have turned, with Member of Parliament Kesineni Nani is pompously slamming the Road Transport Authority (RTA) officials in Andhra Pradesh for illegal registrations and fitness certificates of buses. It may be noted that Arunachal government decided to cancel permits to as many as 900 buses that operate in both AP and Telangana on Monday in violation of the Central Motor Vehicle (CMV) Act, 1986 and CMV Act, 1989.
It may be recalled that TDP MP Nani and MLA Bonda Uma misbehaved with the Transport Commissioner N Bala Subramanyam, alleging that due to the “corrupt” practices of transport officials, around 400 private buses were operating across the state without permits. After the verbal duel the MP and MLA apologised to the official but Nani seems to have not left it there.
The bus registered in Arunachal Pradesh recently met with an accident in Krishna district. Nani allegedly wrote to Arunachal commissioner with the details of the incident. Consequently, Arunachal government cancelled permits for 2400 buses. Besides this violation, the vehicles were registered without mandatory physical inspection. The TDP MP alleged that RTA officials are clearing out the fitness certificates for the buses even before the manufacturing is done violating the norms of CMV act.
The Telugu states will have a huge impact as the private travel agencies operating vehicles acquire national permits from Arunachal and Nagaland as the processing fee is less.
