HYDRA and the Legality!

0

The Hyderabad Development and Reconstruction Authority (HYDRA) was established on July 19 through Government Order (GO) 99, sparking debate about its legality and impact on the real estate sector. HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath addressed these concerns during a recent CREDAI event in Hyderabad.

Ranganath clarified that HYDRA was created through an executive resolution, similar to other government bodies like the Planning Commission and Law Commission. He emphasized that HYDRA is legal and will soon receive additional legitimacy through an ordinance.

“The government will introduce an ordinance for HYDRA next month, granting it special powers for protecting government properties and managing disasters in the city,” Ranganath stated. He added that a HYDRA bill would be presented in the State Assembly within six weeks of the ordinance’s approval.

Addressing legal challenges, Ranganath explained, “HYDRA operates like task forces and greyhounds, supporting municipalities, irrigation, and revenue departments. It doesn’t issue notices but works as a protective force.”

The commissioner also discussed HYDRA’s role in urban planning and development:

1. Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zones: HYDRA will raise awareness about these areas and warn against purchasing land within their scope.
2. Illegal constructions: Ranganath cited court rulings stating that notices are not required to demolish illegal structures under FTL, as existing laws permit such action.
3. Unauthorized buildings: The commissioner warned that even illegal constructions disguised as permitted structures would face scrutiny.

As HYDRA’s influence expands, its impact on Hyderabad’s urban landscape and real estate sector remains a topic of intense discussion. Stakeholders are closely watching the upcoming ordinance and bill, which will further define HYDRA’s powers and responsibilities in shaping the city’s future.

Facts behind Encroachments over Hasmathpet Lake

0

The Telangana Revenue Department has issued a notice to all structures built within the Full Tank Level (FTL) and buffer zone of Bon (Boin) Cheruvu, also known as Hasmathpet Lake in Balanagar.

The notice demands the voluntary removal of all encroachments and illegal constructions that are outside the permitted limits of the lakes by Monday, September 2. The department has warned of taking action, including demolishing the structures and imposing fines on individuals involved in the encroachments, if the notice is not complied with.

The notice, dated Tuesday, August 27, gives a seven-day deadline for the removal of all illegal constructions. This action is a result of the Telangana High Court’s order to district collectors regarding encroachments in the city’s water bodies.

The collector of the Medchal-Malkajgiri district had directed the irrigation and revenue department officials to conduct joint inspections around the century-old Hasmathpet Lake, and they found illegal constructions near the lake, reporting their findings to the collector.

The Prem Sagar Enclave is owned by Congress Mancherial MLA Premsagar Rao, who has encroached upon the lake. The residents and locals are demanding the government to take an action against Congress MLA Premsagar Rao. Can the government officials take a swift action on Premsagar Rao and others who are involved in acquiring permissions and making illegal constructions in and around Hasmathpet lake?

HYDRA Commissioner warns miscreants

0

HYDRA Commissioner AV Ranganath warned miscreants, who are trying to extort money by blackmailing builders and property owners in Hyderabad, by misusing the enforcement agency’s name.

As Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) has been demolishing illegal buildings and encroachments, several miscreants have been using the developments to earn money through illegal means.

Posing themselves as close to HYDRA senior officials, extortionists have been demanding money from realtors and property owners. These miscreants have been threatening property owners saying, they will demolish properties if owners don’t pay money.

In another manner, miscreants have been demanding money from property owners, saying they will ensure that HYDRA officials do not demolish their properties, if they pay the demanded amount. Some are even presenting themselves as social activists and anti corruption crusaders to extort money from gullible property owners.

“We are receiving complaints from all over city that several miscreants are trying to extort money from realtors and property owners misusing HYDRA name. People should not get tricked by these fraudsters who are presenting themselves as HYDRA staff or as those close to HYDRA officials. We will take strict action against guilty who cheat property owners in the name of HYDRA,” warned AV Ranganath speaking to media persons on Wednesday.

Already HYDRA has booked cases and even arrested a person named Viplav, for cheating people in the name of HYDRA.

CM Revanth Reddy’s Brother Receives Notice

0

Everyone is equal before HYDRAA, whether it’s the Chief Minister of the state or his brother. HYDRAA is spreading its wings. Today, it has issued notices to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s brother, Tirupati Reddy, regarding illegal encroachments around Durgamma Cheruvu lake in Ranga Reddy district.

The notices were placed on properties of many residents in the area that fall within the Non-Development Zone (NDZ) of Durgamma Cheruvu Lake. HYDRAA has asked the residents to dismantle these properties within 30 days.

Tirupati Reddy’s residence falls within that area. Rather than defending himself, he accepted that he had no clue that the house was within Durgam Cheruvu’s Full Tank Level (FTL).

Durgam Cheruvu lake was originally 100 acres, but after encroachments, it has shrunk to 85 acres according to the latest surveys. Now officials have to clear nearly 15 acres of Durgam Cheruvu’s surroundings to restore its old dimensions.

Besides these, officials also gave notices to the residents of Nectar Colony, Kavuri Hills, and Amar Society. Authorities have warned the residents about demolitions if they do not dismantle the structures themselves.

We have to wait and see how far HYDRAA can demonstrate its power without bending to pressure. Seeing the latest developments in demolishing illegal encroachments around Greater Hyderabad, other regions of the state are expecting similar actions in their own towns. It is always better to prevent encroachments rather than demolishing them, so it’s high time Revanth Reddy starts taking measures in the town regions as well.

HYDRAA’s important decision over Owaisi College Demolition

0

HYDRAA has come out with a key decision about demolishing educational institutions. After demolishing Nagarjuna’s N convention, political circles were curious about the demolition of Fatima Owaisi College, which is located in Bandlaguda, allegedly constructed on a government land and around Salakam Cheruvu.

Owaisi said that the institution is providing free education for thousands of students and he alleges that the demolition of the college is an act of jealousy. He also said that the government should kill him before demolishing his college.

However, HYDRAA has come up with a key decision. HYDRAA has decided not to demolish educational institutions that are built illegally on government lands or on ponds.

They decided to give prior notice and give proper placements for the students who are pursuing education in those colleges before the demolition as the academic year of the students will be wasted.

The decision of HYDRAA team led by Ranganath is appreciable. HYDRAA became the talk of the Telugu states as none from the previous governments has taken action on the encroachment.

Are Owaisis fearing CM Revanth Reddy?

0

It has been just about nine months and Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has proved that he is a tough nut to crack. Especially the way he is handling illegal constructions and encroachments through HYDRA has earned him huge support in poor and middle class sections, while giving nightmares to the rich and powerful. One such influential duo, which has been frustrated by CM Revanth Reddy’s actions is Owaisi brothers.

Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi and his MLA brother Akbaruddin Owaisi have been skeptic about CM Revanth Reddy right from the beginning. As soon as Revanth Reddy took over charge as CM, Owaisis tried to criticise him as a leader with RSS and ABVP connections in the past.

Inspite of Owaisis’ skepticism, CM Revanth Reddy has been displaying friendly nature towards them. But at the same time he has been tough on the encroachers in Old City, which is considered the bastion of AIMIM. In fact the first major demolitions by HYDRA took place in Sastripuram, which is part of Bahadurpura Assembly constituency, represented by AIMIM.

HYDRA has demolished the illegal constructions built by encroaching the Rukn-ud-daula lake at Sastripuram. Officials had even detained Bahadurpura AIMIM MLA Mohd Mubeen when he tried to obstruct demolitions. This has angered Owaisis to no end, as no CM dared to act in such a decisive way in Old City affairs till date.

As HYDRA continued its actions, AIMIM even demanded to wind up the agency. While there was no much support for AIMIM demand from public, one thing it made clear was, Owaisis are not happy with HYDRA and are ready to oppose it.

When HYDRA officials demolished the high-profile N Convention, CM Revanth Reddy won laurels cutting across the party lines. But only one party which expressed its displeasure was AIMIM. Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi questioned Revanth Government, ‘whether HYDRA will demolish even GHMC and government buildings constructed in encroached lands?’

While the Opposition to HYDRA from AIMIM leaders, is not getting any public support, it is clear that Owaisis and his team are annoyed over it. It is premature on the part of MIM leaders to oppose a campaign which is winning people’s support in a big way. Inspite Owaisis and AIMIM MLAs have been going overboard in opposing HYDRA.

Anyone who is familiar with Hyderabad politics and with command over Old City, clearly knows the reason for AIMIM opposition towards to HYDRA.

Irrespective of which party is ruling the state, it is Owaisis who ruled Old City. They turned Old City into their fiefdom and became a law unto themselves. Allegedly AIMIM leaders have encroached hundreds of acres of land in and around Old City and no official even dared to go near them. Now when CM Revanth Reddy ensured that the encroachments allegedly done with the support of AIMIM leaders are demolished in the broadlight, then it is a clear warning bell and also a threat to Owaisis’ unchallenged supremacy in Old City.

Big Task Ahead For HYDRA

0

The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Monitoring and Protection Agency (HYDRA), constituted by the Congress government with multiple objectives including the demolition of illegal structures around Hyderabad, has turned out to be a nightmare for many.

On Saturday, HYDRA demolished Nagarjuna’s N Convention, which was illegally constructed on Thummikunta Lake. According to HYDRA, they have so far demolished illegal constructions in 18 regions, covering over 43.94 acres.

HYDRA has a longer list of complaints over illegal constructions. Some notable names on this list include Kaveri Seeds owner Bhaskar Rao’s illegal constructions, Pro Kabaddi owner Anupama’s building, BJP leader Sunil Reddy’s constructions, structures owned by MLA Danam Nagendra’s close aide, and BRS Ratnakaram Sairaju’s sheds.

A significant task ahead for HYDRA is the demolition of Fatima Owaisi College in Bandlaguda, which was allegedly constructed illegally. Numerous complaints have already been registered against this college, and an aerial view of the structure has gone viral on social media. Even before HYDRA could take action against his properties, MP Owaisi launched an attack on the agency. He questioned whether the state government would demolish Necklace Road, as it was constructed within the Full Tank Level (FTL) zone of Hussain Sagar Lake.

I’ll Abide To The Law Of The Land & Judgement: Nag

HYDRA demolished Nagarjuna-owned N-Convention centre yesterday. While the actor took to his social media account to issue a statement against this unlawful demolition, Telangana High Court accepted the appeal of the owners and provided an interim relief by putting a stay on the demolition. He also affirmed to abide by the law of the land and judgement.

Seems like, Nagarjuna is worried about various speculations circulated in the media and social media. He reiterated that the land on which N-convention built is a Patta Documented land. He also urged everyone not to believe in rumours about the matter.

Nagarjuna stated, “Dear all, fans and well-wishers, News about celebrities, can often be exaggerated and speculated for effect. I would like to reiterate that the land on which N-convention has been built is a Patta Documented land. Not even one cent of the land beyond that has been encroached upon.

The Special court of AP Land Grabbing (prohibition) Act has given a judgement passing an order Sr.3943/2011 on 24-02- 2014 saying no encroachment has happened in Tummidikunta Lake.

Now the formal argument is already presented in front of the esteemed High Court.

I will abide to the law of the land and judgement. Until then, I sincerely request you not to indulge in speculation, any sort of rumours, misrepresentation of facts and deviations.”

CPI senior K Narayana drops a bomb on Akkineni Nagarjuna

0

CPI senior leader K Narayana demanded Telangana Government to recover the money earned by Akkineni Nagarjuna on N Convention centre. Appreciating Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for demolishing Nagarjuna’s N Convention, K Narayana urged Telangana CM not to yield to the pressures from rich and mighty.

CPI national secretary K Narayana visited the demolition site on Sunday and breathed fire on film star and businessman Akkineni Nagarjuna.

“I wholeheartedly appreciate CM Revanth Reddy for forming HYDRA and taking action on encroachments. It is shameful that a famous and rich film star like Nagarjuna constructed N Convention by occupying the lake. Why is he so greedy? He is earning ten times more money through films and Big Boss,” said K Narayana speaking to media persons on the occasion.

“Using his connections and money power, Nagarjuna illegally constructed N Convention centre. Though KCR warned of demolishing all illegal constructions and encroachments during Telangana movement, became silent after coming to power. But unlike earlier CMs, Revanth Reddy is daringly cracking down on encroachers. Revanth Reddy has demolished N Convention to reclaim the lake. Nagarjuna has earned crores of money on N Convention by charging Rs 50 lakh per day. Government should also recover the money earned by Nagarjuna through N Convention all these years” demanded firebrand leader K Narayana.

K Narayana also mocked Nagarjuna’s statement that latter had a got a stay on N Convention’s demolition and would have demolished himself, if Govt proved encroachment, terming them as ‘filmy dialogues.’

Hailing CM Revanth Reddy’s resolve in cracking down on illegal constructions and encroachments in and around Hyderabad, CPI senior Narayana promised support from Communist parties in this issue. However he urged CM Revanth Reddy to ensure that poor and middle class people are not hurt in the process.

CM Revanth Reddy cites Bhagavadgita’s Yuddhaneethi for lakes protection:

0

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy cited the Yuddhaneeti (Rules of War) preached by Lord SriKrishna in Bhagavdgita, justifying actions of HYDRA. At a time, when Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) authorities are unleashing terror on encroachments, CM Revanth Reddy sent clear signals, he believes in what he is doing and he is not going to stop.

Participating at a spiritual program, Ananta Shesha Sthapana at Kokapet on Sunday, Revanth Reddy made important comments, hinting HYDRA is not going to stop anytime soon.

“In Kurukshetra, when Arjuna decided to quit war, saying that he cannot kill beloved stalwarts like Bhishma for the sake of kingdom, Lord Krishna instructed Arjuna that it is his duty to protect
Dharma and therefore need to fight war. Similarly, even I’m guided by Bhagavadgita for protecting the lakes in and around Hyderabad,” said CM Revanth Reddy.

CM’s comments became viral as debate over N Convention demolition and HYDRA activities are being intensely debated all over Telangana.

“There are no politics involved in HYDRA activities. My sole aim is to save the lakes of Hyderabad by erasing the illegal structures and farmhouses built by encroaching lakes. Because it is our responsibility to save lakes and environment. If we fail to do so, then nature will express its anger on us. We have seen what happened in Chennai, Uttarakhand and very recently in Wayanad, when natures gets angry,” further said CM Revanth Reddy.

“Moved by 1908 floods, Nizam dug and planned several lakes and lake bunds. According to Mokshagundam Vishweshwarayya’s suggestion he built well managed lakes, water supply and sewerage system to manage water supply and floods in Hyderabad. Hyderabad is not just heritage city but also ‘Lake City’,” explained CM Revanth Reddy, highlighting the importance of lakes for Hyderabad.

“When there was shortage of Krishna and Godavari water, Osman Sagar (Gandipet) and Himayat Sagar lakes saved Hyderabadis with their water this summer. But many rich and powerful have built farmhouses by encroaching these lakes and letting out their drainage into these lakes which supply drinking water to Hyderabadis. Now, is it not my responsibility as Telangana CM to crack down on these encroachments and save our lakes?” questioned Revanth Reddy, justifying his actions on cracking down on illegal structures and encroachments through HYDRA.

Breaking: High Court stays N Convention Demolition

0

Hyderabad woke up to a news that N Convention owned by Akkineni Nagarjuna is being demolished by the authorities of HYDRA. The demolition process was completed and Nagarjuna took to his social media page to announce his war against the government of Telangana. He also made sure that there were no notices served before the demolition started and this is against the law. Nagarjuna soon approached the Telangana High Court and got a stay for the demolition. He explained that every piece of land in N Convention is owned by him.

Justice Vinod Kumar issued a stay after hearing the case. The interim orders were issued to halt the demolition of N Convention. A major portion of the construction in the said encroached land is demolished in the morning by HYDRA. Nagarjuna is yet to respond to the court’s orders. N Convention is one of the most expensive party places of Hyderabad owned by Nagarjuna and it hosted parties, marriages and birthday events of several celebrities in the past.

N Convention’s demolition: A big message for VIPs

0

CM Revanth Reddy-led Congress Government has finally demolished film star Akkineni Nagarjuna’s N Convention on Saturday. The popular yet controversial N convention centre has been in news, since Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) started cracking down on illegal structures in Hyderabad.

In fact N Convention has always been a subject of controversy, whenever issues relating to illegal structures and encroachments in Hyderabad sprang up. Officials and activists had raised red flag over N Convention several times in the past. There have been multiple complaints against N Convention alleging that it had been built encroaching Thammidikunta lake. None other than present CM Revanth Reddy had raised his voice against N Convention in the Assembly, when he was a TDP MLA.

But as N Convention belongs to Akkineni Nagarjuna, who carries a lot of clout in Telugu states, no official dared to act on it. Even former CM KCR, who had flared up Telangana sentiment and spew venom on Andhra industrialists and businessmen during Telangana movement, took a U-turn once he became Chief Minister and cosied up with the very people whom had opposed during Telangana movement. So, N Convention, being owned by a hugely popular film star, was safe during BRS rule.

Ironically KCR had vowed to act against illegal properties and encroachments during Telangana movement. In fact KCR had given a prominent statement during Telangana movement that, he will plough Ramoji Film City with one lakh ploughs if Telangana is formed.

But after becoming Chief Minister of Telangana in 2014, KCR got completely transformed and rubbed shoulders with the very people whom he opposed during Telangana movement. The dosti between KCR Govt and big businessmen and Industrialists became so pronounced, many-a-time Telangana activists and general public criticised KCR for ignoring common man and supporting rich and powerful.

KCR’s son KTR’s inclination towards rich businessmen and industrialists, his connections with influential people in glamour and business worlds, ensured that all the irregular and illicit acts of influential people with powerful connections are overlooked.

To be fair, one of the reasons for BRS’ defeat inspite of taking up several welfare measures and good governance, was due to its over patronisation of rich and VIP culture. The rich and powerful in Telangana have come to such an arrogance that, if they have money and power they can get away with anything during KCR’s rule.

But thanks to CM Revanth Reddy, it seems the political and social scenario is witnessing a transformation in Telangana. The brash arrogance of rich and powerful is getting crushed under a ferocious leader’s rule.

While the discussions over whether N Convention’s demolition is justified or not will go on, one strong message Revanth Reddy Sarkar has sent with this incident is, it has no interest in pampering rich and powerful and continue the VIP culture cultivated by KCR Sarkar.

N Convention Demolition: Nagarjuna issues a Statement

0

A portion of N Convention owned by Tollywood actor Akkineni Nagarjuna has been demolished by the HYDRA after complaints were received on encroachment. The demolition process took place this morning and it was concluded in four hours. Nagarjuna took to his social media to respond saying that the entire land was owned by him and he was not served notices before the demolition took place. Nagarjuna also announced that he will start a legal battle against the government of Telangana. Here is his official word:

Pained by the unlawful manner of demolition carried out in respect of N Convention, contrary to existing stay orders and Court cases. I thought it fit to issue this statement to place on record certain facts for protecting my reputation and to indicate that we have not done any actions in violation of law. The land is a Patta land, and not even an inch of tank plan is encroached. In respect of the building constructed inside the private land, there is a stay order granted against any earlier illegal notice for demolition. Today clearly, the demolition was carried out wrongfully based on misinformation. No notice was issued prior to carrying out the demolition this morning. As a law-abiding citizen, if the Court before which the matter is pending, had decided against me, I would have carried out the demolition myself. I am placing this on record for the purpose of correcting any public misimpression about wrongful constructions or encroachment by us. We would be seeking appropriate relief from the Court in relation to the wrong actions carried out by the authorities.

HYDRA demolishing Nagarjuna’s N Convention

0

The suspense has ended. Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) has finally cracked down on N Convention, bringing curtains down on a heated debate over whether ‘N Convention will be demolished or not.’

HYDRA officials are demolishing the N Convention located in Madhapur amid huge security. As this premium convention centre belongs to film star Akkineni Nagarjuna, officials have been acting cautiously and taking care that Government does not come under criticism.

N Convention has been the centre point of heated discussions, ever since HYDRA started unleashing terror on illegal constructions and encroachments in Hyderabad and surrounding areas. It is alleged that N Convention, one of the popular and successful convention centres in Hyderabad, has been built by occupying Thammidikunta lake.

Several environmental activists and public organizations have been demanding HYDRA officials to demolish N Convention for the past few days.

Even Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had protested against N Convention in the past and alleged that Nagarjuna had encroached on water body for constructing the convention centre, when he was in the Opposition. Finally Nagarjuna’s N Convention, which is located in the middle of Hyderabad’s bustling IT hub Madhapur, which is also a realty hotspot, is getting erased under Revanth Reddy-led Congress Government.

While KCR, who vowed to crack down on illegal encroachments in Hyderabad during Telangana movement, remained silent on high profile N Convention during his 10-year rule, CM Revanth Reddy ensured that it got demolished in less than 10 months of Congress rule.

Hyderabad’s HYDRA and Warangal’s WADRA: A Tale of Two Cities

0

HYDRA (Hyderabad Demolition and Reclamation Authority) has become the talk of the town in Hyderabad. This new initiative by the Revanth Reddy government is making waves as it demolishes illegal buildings within the Full Tank Level (FTL) range, including those owned by influential individuals who have encroached upon water bodies.

Meanwhile, there are growing demands for a similar authority in Warangal, dubbed WADRA (Warangal Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring Protection). Citizens are calling for action against illegal constructions that have occupied the historic chain-link ponds built by the Kakatiya dynasty.

In Warangal, several water bodies, including Kazipet Bandham Pond, Bhadrakali Lake, and Mulugu Road Kota ponds, have been encroached upon. Although authorities have issued notices to 300 people and demolished 120 buildings, allegations persist that political pressure has halted action against the remaining structures. Consequently, Warangal faces flooding during heavy rains.

As HYDRA operates in Hyderabad without apparent political interference, Warangal residents are demanding a similar body to address their city’s illegal constructions. They hope that a WADRA-like authority could work as effectively as HYDRA to reclaim encroached water bodies and prevent urban flooding.

The success of HYDRA in Hyderabad has sparked a broader conversation about urban planning, conservation of water bodies, and the need for strict enforcement against illegal constructions across Telangana’s cities.

BRS Supporting Land Encroachers?

0

The people of Hyderabad are appreciating the efforts made by Hyderabad Disaster Relief and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRA), led by AV Ranganathan, which has been demolishing illegal constructions across the river banks and in buffer zones. Encroachers are quite worried about the decisions taken by HYDRA, and several illegal constructions have been demolished. Some politicians from BRS are opposing HYDRA’s move. This has turned out to be a point of discussion. BRS ruled Telangana for ten years, and several illegal constructions have come up across Gandipet and other surrounding regions. Several farmhouses were constructed along water banks, and BRS made no efforts to demolish them.

The Congress government is now quite strict on these issues, and HYDRA is doing its duty. Despite political pressures, HYDRA Commissioner Ranganath has ordered the demolition of properties belonging to politicians like Danam Nagendar and other Majlis MLAs. It is heard that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has offered a free hand to Ranganath. BRS’s stand is further damaging the party, and they seem unbothered about it.

AV Ranganath: HYDRA boss turns monstor for land grabbers

0

Avula Venkata Ranganath, Commissioner of Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) has turned into a monstor for land grabbers in Hyderabad. Since his appointment as the Commissioner of HYDRA in June, Ranganath has cracked down on the land grabbers, demolishing buildings constructed in Government lands and FTL limits of water bodies.

HYDRA was formed by the newly sworn in Congress Government to monitor, manage and offer various relevant public services in Greater Hyderabad region upto Outer Ring Road (ORR) limits.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy had taken personal care in the formation of HYDRA and picked 53-year-old IPS officer AV Ranganath, who has a good service record, to lead.

During the first meeting held on HYDRA, CM opined that, along with the management of disasters, HYDRA should be given the responsibilities of protecting government properties, controlling of encroachments, acting on illegal constructions and assisting concerned departments in providing essential services like water supply, electricity supply, traffic management and other tasks.

Tasked with none other than CM, HYDRA chief immediately jumped into action. According to GHMC observers, HYDRA has reclaimed a whopping 100 acres of government land and erased illegal constructions in several lake areas like Osman Sagar (Gandipet lake), Himayat Sagar, Errakunta, Bam Rukn Ud-Dowlah and other lakes, within a month of its formation.

Read Also : Danam Nagender Accusations Against Revanth Reddy

AV Ranganath-led HYDRA has marched at such a fast and furious pace, it has left several biggies of Hyderabad fuming. Senior MLA Danam Nagendar openly expressed his displeasure over HYDRA booking a case against him in Nandagiri Hills land issue. Owasis-led-AIMIM has even demanded for the winding up of HYDRA.

As most of the encroachments are done directly or with indirect support of politicians, whereever HYDRA teams have gone for demolishing illegal constructions, either big guys or small-time politicians have tried to obstruct its operations. But AV Ranganath being a tough task master, saw to it that, HYDRA staff did not buckle under political pressure.

A 1996-batch Group I officer, AV Ranganath got promoted to IPS cadre in 2006.

In his career spanning 28 years, AV Ranganath has held several key roles. He has served as Greyhounds Assault Commander in 2000. As he was serving in Prakasam district during 2004, when YSR-led Congress Government held talks with Maoists, personally welcomed senior Maoist leaders including Ramakrishna (RK).

AV Ranganath also won President’s Police Medal for Gallantry in 2012, for his efforts in curbing left wing extremism.

Later he has served as SP of Khammam and Nalgonda districts.

It was during his stint as Nalgonda SP, Amrita-Pranay episode happened.

Subsequently he has served as Joint Commissioner (Traffic) Hyderabad city and Warangal Police Commissioner.

In fact he has never shied away from taking tough actions, as part of his duty. Either arresting culprits in Medico Preethi’s death incident, arresting BJP firebrand Bandi Sanjay in tenth paper leakage case last year, cracking down on traffic violators during his stint as Hyderabad city traffic chief, AV Ranganath has earned the name of being a tough cop.

Now, as HYDRA Commissioner and with unflinching support of Chief Minister, AV Ranganath is giving nightmares to the land grabbers and encroachers in Hyderabad.

Danam Nagender Accusations Against Revanth Reddy

0

Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Monitoring and Protection (HYDRA) was established to deal with encroachments in Greater Hyderabad. The department was supposed to take action against land grabbers and buildings violating norms, such as encroachments on lakes, nalas, and government lands.

AV Ranganath was appointed as the HYDRA commissioner, and he said that hundreds of complaints were registered regarding encroachments across the city on Monday.

On the flip side, a case was registered at the Jubilee Hills police station against Danam Nagender, the Congress MLA from Khairatabad, for allegedly demolishing a wall at a GHMC park. V Papaiah, in-charge of GHMC’s Enforcement, Vigilance and Disaster Management (EV&DM), accused the MLA of demolishing the park situated at Nandagiri Hills. Subsequently, cases have been registered against the MLA.

In this entire controversy, Danam Nagender has started alleging that Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is responsible for registering a case against him. He claimed that Revanth Reddy has taught him a lesson for joining Congress.

On the other hand, Congress has a different version, stating that even if leaders are from their party, they will not be allowed to take advantage of their power.
