AP Cabinet Unveils New Plans for Growth and Development

0

The Andhra Pradesh (AP) Cabinet recently met and made several important decisions for the state’s future. Here’s a look at the key changes they’ve planned:

Education Takes Center Stage:
The cabinet is launching a new health education program called STEMY. They’re also introducing Apar ID cards for students, linked to Aadhaar. In higher education, SRM University is getting a special status to benefit students. Additionally, BITS Pilani University plans to invest 1000 crores in AP, boosting educational opportunities.

Airport Gets a New Name:
The upcoming airport at Bhogapuram will be named Alluri Sitamaraju International Airport, honoring a well-known freedom fighter.

Changes in Liquor Policy:
New rules for liquor sales have been approved. The cabinet wants to make quality brands more accessible. Some liquor prices might drop from 147 rupees to 99 rupees.

Volunteer System Overhaul:
The government discussed the volunteer system at length. With many volunteers (1.07 lakh) having quit, leaving only 1.10 lakh, they plan to integrate the remaining volunteers with various government departments for better efficiency.

Ambitious Job Creation Goal:
A major focus is on creating 20 lakh jobs in the next five years. Minister Parthasarathi outlined strategies to achieve this target, emphasizing economic growth and employment opportunities.

Newspaper Program Halted:
The cabinet ended a program that provided 200 rupees monthly for daily newspapers. They’re investigating this old program, which spent over 200 crores, due to concerns about its fairness.

These decisions reflect the AP government’s efforts to improve education, boost the economy, and enhance public services. The cabinet hopes these changes will lead to significant growth and positive changes for AP in the coming years.

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu had visited the Amaravati region and inspected all the buildings under construction. He inspected every building in Amaravati and personally looked at their condition. The buildings were stopped in 2019 by the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, which proposed three capitals for the state. Amaravati was proposed as the Legislative Capital and hence Jagan Mohan Reddy ignored further development of Amaravati.

The Central government had proposed Rs 15,000 crore as loan from the World Bank for the completion of the Amaravati capital in the next five years. The Central government would support the State government to complete the project. The state government is committed to complete the project and make Amaravati as the only capital of the state.

The state government is also preparing ground to ensure that Amaravati would be the only capital of the state. The chief minister is planning to make it a permanent capital of the state and no government can think of changing the capital as Jagan Mohan Reddy government did in the last five years.

Jagan Cries ‘Save Democracy’ While Others Praise New Government

0

In a stunning turn of events, Andhra Pradesh voters sent a clear message to YSRCP chief YS Jagan, giving his party only 11 out of 175 assembly seats. Since taking office, Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has hit the ground running, focusing on rebuilding the state capital and pushing for development – areas that reportedly suffered under Jagan’s previous administration.

Meanwhile, Jagan isn’t going quietly. He and his party members staged a protest against alleged attacks on YSRCP supporters. Things got heated when Jagan was blocked at the assembly gates, leading him to shout about saving democracy and restoring law and order. He accused the police of manhandling protesters and tearing up their placards, claiming they were acting as government agents rather than protectors of democracy.

Taking his grievances to the top, Jagan met with Governor Abdul Nazeer, demanding a central government investigation into what he calls “atrocities” happening in the state.

The timing of these protests has raised eyebrows. Many Andhra Pradesh residents seem pleased with the new government’s performance so far. Cabinet ministers are busy rolling out welfare schemes, launching development projects, and even exploring AI initiatives for the state.

Critics argue that Jagan’s outcry is a case of sour grapes. They claim his vision for Andhra Pradesh never extended beyond handing out freebies, contrasting sharply with the current administration’s focus on economic growth.
