Anand Mahindra appointed chairman of Young India Skill University

Telangana Government appointed reputed industrialist and Mahindra Group chief Anand Mahindra as the chairman of Board of Governors of Young India Skill University. CM Revanth Reddy had personally requested Anand Mahindra to lead the new-born University, aimed at skilling Telangana youth and getting them job ready.

Telangana Government issued orders appointing Anand Mahindra as the chairman of Young India Skill University. He will continue in that post for a year.

Young India Skill University is the brainchild of Telangana CM Revanth Reddy. Therefore he has been taking utmost care about its setting up and functioning. To ensure that Skill University gets nationwide popularity and credibility, Telangana CM has roped in Anand Mahindra.

The Young India Skill University will offer skill oriented courses in 17 subjects. It is coming up near Kandukuru in Rangareddy district. CM Revanth Reddy has already laid foundation stone for the University Building last month. Classes will be held at Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI), Gachi Bowli, till the new campus is ready.

Anand Mahindra to lead Telangana’s Young India Skill University

Eminent industrialist, Chairman of Mahindra Group, Anand Mahindra is all set to lead Telangana Government’s Young India Skill University. The new skilling university is considered as the brainchild of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. So, he has been taking utmost care about Young India Skill University.

Now, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that Young India Skill University will have leading industrialist Anand Mahindra as chairperson.

“Proper skills have become necessary to survive. There is importance of job oriented skills all over the world. For the skilling of youth we have founded Young India Skill University. This is being set up and run in PPP model. I have requested eminent industrialist Anand Mahindra to take charge of it. Most likely, in the next two days, Anand Mahindra will take responsibility of chairperson of the skilling university set up by Telangana Government,” said Revanth Reddy. He made these comments while speaking at a meeting in US.

Anand Mahindra met Telangana CM Revanth Reddy last week in Hyderabad and appreciated CM’s efforts in education and skilling sectors. It appears Anand Mahindra is really inspired by Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s Young India Skill University.

Young India Skill University offers courses in 17 subjects. The course list includes subjects like: Health care, Pharma, AI and Information Sciences, Animation, Visual Effects, Tourism, Hospitality Management and others.

Young India Skill University, the ambitious project of Revanth Reddy

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy performed bhoomi puja for Young India Skill University at Meer Khan Pet, Hyderabad on Thursday. Earlier in the day he also presented the Young India Skill University Bill in the Assembly.

“Youth played a key role in Telangana movement but were completely neglected after the formation of new state. But Congress Government will put and end to that. Young India Skills University is a first and important step in that direction,” said CM Revanth Reddy speaking in Assembly.

“Earlier we all knew how occupational castes like kammari (blacksmiths), kummari (potters), nayi brahmin (hairdressers), rajaka (washermen), swarnakarulu (gold smith) have earned good livelihood though they did not go to any university. But to day, even after earning multiple degrees and going to colleges and universities, youth are unable to get jobs. To address this serious issue, we are bringing up Young India Skill University,” explained CM Revanth Reddy, speaking on the occasion.

CM Revanth Reddy has been taking special care about Young India Skills University and has been personally overseeing framing of its aims, objectives, courses, recognition and official structure.

As informed by CM Revanth Reddy, Young India Skill University will offer Job oriented courses in about 17 subjects. The courses will be offered in subjects like Artificial Intelligence and Information Sciences, Graphic Design, Animation, Automotive and EVs, Healthcare, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tourism and Hospitality Management, Banking and Financial Services and others.
