TAGC- Telugu Association of Greater Chicago (First Telugu association in North America) celebrated Dussehra and Deepawali festival with Chicago land area Telugu families at the Naperville Community Church, Yellow Box, Naperville, IL 60540.
The event was a grand success with an overwhelming response from the Telugu community with over 2000 guests in attendance (both events). TAGC conducted Dussehra and Deepawali celebrations with cultural programs with 330 local talents, followed by a live musical concert by one of the top Tollywood music directors, Anup Rubens and his team Dhanunjay, Pruthvi Chandra, Roll Rida, Renina Reddy, Bhargavi Pillai, Uma Neha and musicians from India.
The Auditorium was well decorated with welcome banners while the stage was decorated with the TAGC logo by decoration committee members Deepthi Mutyampeta and Pradeep G team. TAGC President, Mr. Ramachandra Reddy Ade, welcomed and wished good health, prosperity and wealth to all the guests and started the program with Lord Ganesha prayer along with the cultural team and Board of Directors. In the Dussehra and Deepawali cultural event 330 participants performed a variety of programs and shows keeping the audience entertained and involved. The program highlights included “Deepawali signifies the victory of light over darkness” theme dance, skit name and Retro couple theme (hits of Bollywood stars from 1970 to 2015) and praying Goddess Laxmi with 25 female singers etc. TAGC President thanked and congratulated Cultural Committee Chair Sujatha Katta, Co- chair Praveen Vemulapalli, team members and volunteers who worked assiduously for more than 8 weeks to make the event flawless and remarkable.
TAGC President, Ramachandra Reddy Ade, recognized all the 2017 board of directors, all committee chairs, volunteers and introduced new board for directors for 2019-20. TAGC president, Mr. Ramachandra Ade, along with President Elect Jyothi Chintalapani and board members recognized and felicitated Mr. Pradeep Kandimalla (President -2016) for his services and dedication towards the organization with flower bouquet, shawl and a plaque. TAGC President, Mr. Ramachandra R Ade, thanked all the participants, their parents, teachers and the guests for their enthusiastic show of support throughout the evening. He also conveyed his gratitude and thanks to sponsors for giving back to the community and requested TAGC members to make use of services provided by sponsors. He also presented plaques to sponsors and volunteers for their unconditional support.
A delicious dinner with a variety of food items was served by local restaurant. Food committee Chair, Uma Avadutha, co-chair Vijay Bheeram with her team & volunteers, did a wonderful job in serving dinner for such a mass crowd in the allocated time.
“Music can change the world because it can change people”. With this motto a Live Music Concert by well-known Tollywood music director Anup Rubens and his team from India to entertain TAGC members after the dinner. The musical night rocked and energized guests in the auditorium with continuous nonstop entertainment for over 2 hours.
