The Tamil Nadu Film Producers Council (TFPC) strike about the high prices charged by digital service providers has been called off last night. TFPC President Vishal met the press to inform about the happenings. TFPC held a meeting with Tamil Nadu ministers Kadambur Raju and K.C.Veeramani along with the distributors and Exhibitors Association. Speaking on this, Vishal confirmed that the digital provider rates came down by 50%.
The State Government will be passing a GO about the computerized ticketing in each and every theatre of the state from June 1st for complete transparency. TFPC is in plans to start a new web portal for online ticket booking which will have minimal booking charges. This turned out to be a huge relief for Tamil cinema as no film has been released since March 1st in the state. Superstar Mahesh Babu’s Bharat Ane Nenu will have a wide release across Tamil Nadu now.
