Tamil Nadu Film Producers’ Council (TFPC) offices in Chennai witnessed high drama as a group of producers locked the offices accusing Vishal of misappropriating funds and not adhering to the byelaws of the council.
It is known news that Vishal was elected as President of Tamil Film Producers Council election, which was held on 2 April 2017. Vishal is also the general secretary of Nadigar Sangam (South Indian Artistes’ Association). In the capacity of president of TFPC, he voiced against online piracy and started an anti-piracy cell. He was also seen actively contributing during any calamity affecting Tamil Nadu or Kerala. But at the same time, he has been facing the wrath of few producers, who have consistently raised red flags against his management. Some of his friends like RK Suresh and Udhaya, who stood by him earlier, also turned hostile against Vishal later.
Today, about 50 producers came together to TFPC office and protested against alleged mismanagement by Vishal. These producers had a verbal altercation with council’s secretary at TFPC office. Later, they locked down the council office and handed over the keys to a nearby police station. This group of producers accused Vishal of not keeping the promises he made earlier. They also questioned his inaction against film piracy.
