Narsapur MP seat in West Godavari district is going to be a seat of fast-changing politics with many twists and turns. Already, industrialist Raghurama Krishnam Raju has changed party loyalties from TDP to YCP overnight. He was expected to contest from here on TDP ticket but now he is YCP candidate from the same place. Taking this as a matter of prestige, CM Chandrababu has taken a closer look at the segment and decided to give a strong counter to Raghurama Krishnam Raju.
It is also decided to field a financially strong Kshatriya candidate from TDP in order to outsmart the YCP game plan. Initially, Naidu considered the names of TDP district president Seetharama Lakshmi and former minister Kothapalli Subbarayudu but they were not considered a match for Raghurama Krishnam Raju along financial lines. Now Chandrababu is actively considering the name of industrialist Gokaraju Rama Raju, who is the brother of BJP MP Gokaraju Ganga Raju.
The TDP leaders have begun consultations with Rama Raju and they are trying to convince him. It is not yet known about Gokaraju Ganga Raju’s plans for the 2019 election. Under present political conditions, he may have no winning chances if he contests again on BJP ticket.
