The coordination committees of the TDP and Jana Sena began holding meetings from Sunday. On the first day meetings in seven districts were held while on Monday, meetings were held in another 9 districts. The meetings are likely to be completed by Tuesday.
The two parties would start joint action programmes from November 1 across the state. They would be holding protests and other meetings to sensitise people against the ruling YSR Congress.
The leaders of the two parties said that the alliance between the TDP and the Jana Sena was a historical necessity in the state. They emphasised the need to defeat the YSR Congress in the coming 2024 general election.
The leaders of the two parties also called upon the rank and file of their respective party to rally together to defeat the YSR Congress. They wanted the party activists to work hard for the next six months to defeat the YSR Congress.
The leaders said that the Jagan Mohan Reddy’s regime is nothing but political vendetta and serious corruption. The government had failed on all fronts to reach out to the people, the leaders said. They also added that this government had failed to meet the requirements of the people in the last four-and-a-half years.
The alliance was fixed by Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan and TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu a few weeks ago. Pawan Kalyan announced the alliance between the two parties after his meeting with TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu in Rajamahendravaram central jail.
Later, the two parties held the first state level coordination committee meeting in Rajamahendravaram. TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan attended the meeting, besides other senior leaders from both the parties.
Though the Jana Sena is part of the BJP, it had moved towards the TDP without holding talks with the BJP leaders. In all probability, the Jana Sena is likely to break its alliance with the BJP and go with the TDP in the coming elections in Andhra Pradesh.
