MLA from Venkatagiri constituency K Ramakrishna was caught in a camera allegedly demanding Rs 5 crore from Montecarlo Limited company
Nellore: One of the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s MLA from Nellore district has stoked a controversy bringing bad name to the Telugu Desam.
MLA from Venkatagiri constituency K Ramakrishna was caught in a camera allegedly demanding Rs 5 crore from Montecarlo Limited company, which has taken up the railway works of Ravuru – Krishnapatnam 58-kilometre railway line in the district.
The representatives of Montecarlo on Monday convened a press conference to pour out their woes. They alleged that the TDP MLA along with his followers were making frequent visits to the work site and threatening the working staff if his demands are not met.
“The amount that the MLA was demanding is very hefty. We had quoted very less price because we would like to work in Andhra Pradesh,” said a representative of the company.
Eighty per cent of works have been completed so far and 20 per cent of the works were left. The company also alleged that MLA Ramakrishna abused the staff on several occasions.
The TDP MLA had kicked off a controversy when he snatched a mike of election officer (District Collector) during Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituency (ZPTC) elections in Nellore district.
MLA Ramakrishna had also transferred District ZP Senthil Kumar, who was cracking a whip against the sand mafia and illegal trading in the district. The TDP MLA had challenged the District SP of transferring him to another district during a meeting in front of the TDP cadre.
