TDP MP’s family members were forced to sit-on the road for five hours in Tirupati alleging police in-action. It all started as two-time Chittoor MP Dr N Siva Prasad’s daughter Dr Madhavi Latha became angry with the rude behaviour of a person in Reddy and Reddy Colony of Tirupati last evening.
When she was going in her car, her driver sounded horn seeking to clear the road as a vehicle was found blocking the way. Instead of giving the way, a person named Narender Reddy, alias Deepu has allegedly abused her driver. When she tried to come to the rescue of her driver stating that she is the daughter of an MP, he became reckless and abused her also in the name of her caste.
She was shocked with his behaviour and started dharna on the road at that place demanding his apology. Her family members also joined her. Meanwhile, police on the basis of his vehicle number nabbed him at Chandragiri and shifted to Tirupati East police station
The traffic was blocked as her dharna continued for about five hours. She deplored that when she demanded apology from the accused in that spot only, the police asked her to come to the police station to `identify’ the accused.
Alleging that the accused was in drunken stage, she alleged that the police is trying to protect the accused as he is the nephew of an excise assistant commissioner.
YSRCP’s Chandragiri MLA Ch Bhaskar Reddy, who is known as a severe critic of the ruling TDP, extending support to her agitation, condemned police in-action.
Her father, Dr Siva Prasad also flayed police in-action and said had the police makes the accused to say apology on that road itself, that would become a good lesson for eve-teasers. Expressing severe concern over de-treating law and order conditions in his party’s government, Siva Prasad wondered that family members of a ruling party MP were forced to stay on roads for five hours seeking justice.
