Disturbed with the opposition frequent attacks that the Telugu Desam Party’s government failing in implementation several of its poll promises, the party seems has removed all election speeches of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu from social media. More particularly, it has removed speeches related to his promise of one job per family and a stipend of Rs 2,000 per month for unemployed and has even removed the election manifesto from its own party website.
Two days back, YSR Congress Party chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy referred to TDP’s promise of `one job to one house’ and unemployment allowance in the case unable to provide job, at a public meeting in Narasaraopet.
On the next day, TDP national general secretary and Chief Minister’s son Nara Lokesh tried to cover up failure of honouring this poll promise. He said in Rajahmundry that job to every house doesn’t mean providing a government job to every house. ‘The jobs may be in private sector, in the form of providing skills enabling them to secure a job or even providing assistance under various schemes for self-employment’.
YSR Congress senior leader Bhumana Karunakar Reddy accused that TDP has been distorting its own election promises and making every effort to boast that it has fulfilled all election promises though it was found wanting on all counts.
He deplored that “Lokesh has been telling that the Party has never promised to give government jobs and it has resorted to unethical practices of removing the video clippings of Chandrababu Naidu, election speeches and the manifesto from public glare”.
Karunakar Reddy asserted that during electioneering Chandrababu Naidu has promised time and again that he would provide one job per family failing which unemployment stipend of Rs 2,000 would be given. Of the 1.75 crore houses in the state, he said the stipend works of 1.08 lakh crores for the 31 months of TDP rule.
He further said that the TDP may remove from social media its own promises, but YSRCP is having all the material and will distribute as and when required.
