TDP National President and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has discussed about latest political situation in Vizianagaram district with party leaders from there.
After careful consideration, Naidu has announced RP Bhanjdev’s name as TDP candidate for Salur assembly segment after many local leaders have expressed their support in his favour.
MLC Gummidi Sandhya Rani lost out in the ticket race after the party leadership convinced and her to complete her MLC term which runs for another three years.
ZP Chairperson Swathi Rani has also been in the race but the TDP leadership has decided not to let her confine herself to one segment.
Bhanjdev, Sandhya Rani, Swathi, mandal level leaders and those from Salur town met the TDP president and submitted their observations.
Naidu is believed to have decided to announce party candidates in all those segments where there are no major disputes nor are there too many contenders for tickets.
He has also indicated probability of fielding Satrucherla Sasikala, wife of former minister S. Vijayarama Raju in Kurupam segment. Sasikala’s name will be formally announced as and when she gets clearance on her ST certificate. She hails from a border village in Orissa.
