Narendra Modi’s love for acronyms has definitely influenced YCP leaders. The YCP MLA Buggana Rajendranath Reddy gave an acronym to TDP as Temporary Development Party. The YCP MLA remarked that everything done by the government is temporary, be it construction of Pattiseema and Purushottapatnam Lift irrigation schemes or assembly and secretariat buildings or the hotel accommodation for MLAs. The leader’s mic was cut off abruptly when he called TDP a Temporary Development Party.
The MLA did not stop there and tickled the funny bone of the members but left the ruling party furious. He said, “During the Partnership Summit, a cancer research institute signed an MoU with the state government, promising to create 12,000 jobs. Probably, the (cancer) patients would be counted as employees”
The opposition legislator purported that even though there is no demand, two new thermal power projects are being built for the sake of kickbacks.
Labour Minister K Atchannaidu snapped by saying, “Your leader Jagan is used to such quid pro quo. He has got rupees one lakh crore”. The assembly witnessed chaos when the YCP leaders started marching towards the speaker’s podium. Later Leader of Opposition Y S Jaganmohan Reddy gave back by challenging the labour minister to prove that at least ten percent of the rupees 43000crores belonged to him. He further said if he proves, he would gift it to the minister.
