The massive mass contact program ‘Jana Chaitanya Yatra’ of Telugu Desam party will begin from December 1, 2015. The program, intended to reach out to every household in the state, was to be launched on November 20, but had to be postponed due to heavy rains in Nellore, Chittoor and Kadapa districts. According to TDP politburo member and government chief whip Kalava Srinivasulu, the party president Chandrababu Naidu asked the party leaders to launch the program without any break for ten days from December 1 to December 14. Telling the people about NDA government’s non-fulfillment of its commitments as per the AP Reorganization Act.2014, is also part of the mass contact program.
“Entire party will participate in the program. Nowhere in the country has a political party taken up a mass contact program on these line to knock at the doors of every household and gather feedback on the performance of the government. All leaders of the party, MLCs, MLAs, MPs, Ministers and party organizational leaders from state to the village level will participate in the program,” he said.
Elaborating on the program Kalava Srinivasulu said the program in every village or ward begins with hoisting of the flag. Later, party leaders visit members of each and every family and explain the developmental programs taken up by the government and the problems the state government facing due to fund crunch. Lack of expected support from the central government, delay in announcing the special packages to backward regions etc would also placed before the people.
“Similarly party leaders will create awareness about the many welfare schemes among the people and take notes of the complaints and suggestion to improvise the programs to ensure that they benefited the poor fully,” Srinivasulu said.
The leaders will also tell about the importance of development of Amaravati into world-class city and the benefits the state going to derive from the global city. “We will cover every scheme of the government including the projects being planned for various district and the problems the opposition is creating for these projects,” he said.
He said the chief minister asked the leaders to stay put for one night in each village in order to spend more time with the villagers and interact with them deeply.
TDP leaders also try to educate the people on the criticism leveled by the opposition parties against the land acquisition being done for airports, ports and other industrial purposes.
