Tech Mahendra Chief Executive Officer CP Gurnani will be advising Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the development advanced digital technologies in the state.
Gurnani, who is popular as CP among his peers, is said to have agreed to the CM’s proposal to work as a member of core team of advisors on Information Technology. Gurnani today called on the chief minister at camp office at Vijayawada and had a long conversation with the chief minister. He is said to have played key role in the transformation of Mahindra Satyam and its eventual merger into Tech Mahindra. He is an accomplished business leader in the development international business development, start-ups and turnarounds, joint ventures etc. He is especially well known for his contribution to the evolution of Tech Mahindra’s post-Satyam strategy and philosophy. A chemical Engineering graduate from the NIT Rourkela, he was decorated with Ernst and Young ‘Enterpreneur of the Year”, CNBC ” India Business Leader of the Year’, and ” Best CEO of the Year’, from Forbes India.
In today’s meeting, Gurnani informed the CM that Tech Mahindra would set up Centre for Excellence in Robotics and Analytics department at International Institute of Digital Technologies (IIDT) coming up at Tirupati. The company is also planning provide 1000 jobs in its facility at Visakhapatnam.
Speaking on the Chief Minister’s contribution towards development of the Information Technology sector in Hyderabad, Gurnani said, he takes inspiration from him to work relentlessly and strive to make the impossible possible. He assured to the the Chief Minister that the company will extend all necessary support for the development of IT sector in the successor state of Andhra Pradesh.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister briefed him on how the government has adopted technology and innovation for better governance and welfare activities. He invited the tech giant to be a partner in the state’s growth story.
