The Telangana assembly has been adjourned sine die. On the final day of the budget session, Finance Minister Etala Rajender tabled the Currency Exchange bill and CAG report. The assembly held an elaborate discussion before passing the bill. The assembly in this session passed five bills. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in his speech spoke at a length about regularization of Home guard, Asha workers, BC reservations, KG to PG.
The CM assured that the state government will reach out to Supreme Court in securing reservations along the lines of Tamil Nadu. He said that the government is not giving religion based reservations and will thoroughly analyze BC reservations before taking any step in that direction. As per the promises made in the manifesto the TRS chief said that tribals and minorities reservations will be increased. He spoke about Beedi workers, Single woman pension scheme, Kalyan Lakshmi, Shaadi Mubarak, Farmers loan waiver scheme. He promised to complete the construction of 2BHK homes
Mess Charges Hiked
The CM speaking about the appropriation bill announced increase in mess charges sanctioned by the government for all classes in hostels which will benefit 18 lakh students in the state. The new mess charge for the students of class III to VII is Rs 950, class VIII to X is Rs1100 and for the intermediate and degree students it is Rs1,400 per month.
