The State of Telangana is one of the very few states (in India) with the surplus economy, thanks to Hyderabad. Similarly, the TRS Government is taking all measures for the smooth running of the government and is carrying out welfare activities. Now it is the turn of TSCSD (Telangana State Civil Supplies Department) to make the ultimate use of developing technology, to ensure the benefits of the welfare programs reach the people who are eligible.
The TSCSD officials announced that GPS devices will be attached to Lorries that carry Civil Supplies to ration depots throughout the state. Command Control Centre (CCC) will be established in each district, to monitor the movement of the GPS attached Lorries.
Telangana Government believes technology coupled with efficient administration can curb the selling of ration in the black market. ‘This helps us to track the movement of vehicles, but also the loading and unloading of rice in Godowns’, said an official from the State Civil Supplies Department. Similarly, the civil supplies will be handed over to eligible individuals via E-Pass. CCTV cameras will also be set up in each godown, for continuous monitoring.
